FLOW CYTOMETRY The NUMI Flow Cytometry Laboratory now has three flow cytometers; BD Facs VantageSE (Becton Dickinson), the Dako Cytomation Cyan LX and Coulter Epics Altra (Beckman Coulter). The Cyan LX is basically a benchtop flow cytometer which provides the users with a user-friendly instrument for them to run their flow cytometry applications. The FACSVantage and Epics Altra flow cytometers have both analysis as well as cell sorting capabilities. Flow cytometry applications commonly handled in the unit includes DNA cell cycle analysis, apoptosis and necrosis studies, three or four color immunophenotypic analysis, calcium flux analysis and sterile sorting onto 6, 12, 24 and 96 well plates.
OUR EQUIPMENT BD FACs Vantage SE Our BD Facs Vantage SE is equipped with two coherent Innova 90 lasers for visible (488nm) and UV argon lines (355-364nm). It can measure up to five fluorescence parameters, as well as FCS and SSC. In addition, it is capable of sorting cells into 6, 12, 24 and 96 well plates. It could sort up to 20,000 cells / second. Dako Cytomation Cyan LX Our Cyan LX is equipped with an argon solid state laser (488nm) and a red sapphire solid state laser (633nm). It can measure up to six fluorescence parameters, as well as FCS and SSC. Beckman Coulter Epics Altra Our Coulter Elite ESP is equipped with one 488nm Argon air cooled laser, a solid state 633nm laser as well as a multiline argon UV (350nm) water cooled laser. It has 6 fluorescence parameters, as well as FSC and SSC. In addition, it is capable of sorting cells into 6, 12, 24 and 96 well plates. It could sort up to 10,000 cells / second.

CHARGES
Note: NUS subsidized users are those from the facilities of the National University of Singapore , as well as University- or Faculty-level research centres and institutes. Training will be provided free-of-charge until the users are competent in operating the instruments themselves within a reasonable period of time as determined by our staff.
OUR POLICY The use of our facilities is by appointment only (at least 1 week in advance). Users of the flow cytometry facility must give at least 24 hours notice of a cancelled appointment, failing of which the set-up fee of $20 will be sur-charged. Billing begins from the time the appointment is scheduled to start, please be punctual. If you are late for your appointment and run into next person's appointment, you must STOP acquiring your samples and finish at a later time, subject to availability. The cell sorting flow cytometers will not run samples that are potentially infectious to human.
