POSITION 1

NUS Post-Graduate Scholarship available in Oncology Research Institute

Under the Office of Life Sciences (OLS) in the National University of Singapore (NUS), our group in the Cancer Program in Oncology Research Institute (ORI) is interested to identify tyrosine kinases and their substrates during cancer progression.

Several novel tyrosine kinase substrates that have never been implicated in cancer development were discovered in our laboratory recently.  To investigate the role and characterize these candidate proteins in Oncogenic Signaling and Cancer Biology, we are looking for a self-driven, enthusiastic and promising final year students who are expected to attain at least a 2nd upper honors degree for direct entry into graduate studies at August 2008.  The techniques used in our laboratory include state-of-the-art mass spectrometry, molecular and cell biology, animal and clinical models.  We believe you will enjoy this challenging and exciting project.

POSITION 2 & 3

Low Temperature Preservation Unit

Research Assistant should have M. Sc degree with several years of research experience in the field of stem cells research and blood cells research/hematology.
The job involves multidisciplinary study on low temperature preservation of blood cells and stem cells derived from different sources and complex tissue engineered constructs involving non-embryonic human and animal stem cells.
Applicants intend to pursue post-graduate study are preferred.

Lab Officer should have B. Sc (Hons)/ B.Sc majoring in biology and at least 1 year of research experience in the field of rodent animal handling, animal surgery, tissue isolation, and stem cells culturing; or relevant experience in blood cells research.
Applicants intend to pursue post-graduate study are preferred.

Responsibilities
• Able to carry out research experiments individually
• Able to write scientific reports and articles

• Able to manage paper work and
Candidates with interest in cryobiology and a history of suitable publications are preferred.

POSITION 4

You will provide operational support in the daily running of the NUMI Store, maintain contract maintenance of NUMI scientific equipment, liaison person for any facility works, represent NUMI in safety committee and any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

  • ITE or Polytechnic graduates preferably in Bioscience, Business or Inventory Management
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office applications
  • Relevant working experience with inventory mangement will be an advantage
  • Creative, positive attitude and ability to learn on the job
  • Good organizational ability and a good team player
