MEDIA PREPARATION

NOTICE: As part of NUMI’s streamlining process, the Media Preparation Unit has ceased operation with effect from 1st September 2009.

The following raw materials (powder) can be purchased from the NUMI Lab Supplies Store from 1st September 2009 onwards:

12. di-Natrium Hydrogen Phosphate

The Media Preparation Unit of NUMI provides an array of common media and solutions made available for your research. Rising materials cost and GST hike have resulted in the increased of our selling price of medium inevitably from 1 July 07. The list is as follows:

Note: With effective from 1 August 2008, price of DMEM and RPMI will be $10.00 and $12.00 respectively.

Terms and Conditions

Effective 1 January 07, the sale of the above-mentioned media is through the Store at #B1-03 Blk MD11 CRC to NUS staff only due to limitations.

Billing is on a monthly basis (via Store) and the payment terms is 30 days.

No reimbursement for the return of media bottles.

CRC Building Chemical Waste Collecting

Chemical waste collection is opened every Friday from 10am to 10.30 am.
Users have to fill out a set of declaration forms* in capital letter for each item (1 pc A4 size and 1 pc 1/3 of A4 size). Submit the A4 size form to NUMI staff (Ms Chen Xiaoxu) and paste the smaller form on the item for disposing.

NUMI staff are to indicate the Chemical Waste Number on the declaration forms.

After ensuring that forms are properly filled out, users may leave their waste in the Chemical waste room (Basement 2) at the appointed time.

CRC Building Biohazard Waste Collecting

Biohazard waste collection is opened every Monday Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 10.30 am.
Users have to double bag the waste in Biohazard bags, fasten them securely and bring them down to basement 2 (Biohazard Waste Room) at the appointed time.
